The Coffee High Track Team took the trip to Starr’s Mill High School to compete against 31 other schools. Friday Night Lights Meet at Strar’s Mill attracts teams from Georgia and Alabama. The Lady Trojans tied for 23rd place and scored 7 team points at this meet. The Trojans scored 8 points tied for 16th place. Junior Kate Merritt had an outstanding day setting two new school records running 5:25.79 in the 1600 meter run and 11:25.85 in the 3200 meters. Her performances are considered to be an Elite performance.

Chris Stafford also had an outstanding performance in the long jump clearing 22 feet and clearing 45 feet and 1 inch. He also participated in the 300 meter hurdles setting a new personal record to 42.75 seconds and the 4X400 meter relay team of Travis Adams, Deuce Eddington, and Dedrick Flagg (3:45.70) for a season best. Keilona Bennett improved her time in the 100 meter hurdles to 18.72 seconds.

Tyrese Woodgett was one of three freshmen to compete in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.34 seconds. He placed 24th out of 50 runners and was the best of three freshmen competing at the meet dominated by juniors and seniors. Tyrese also tied for 18th place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.32 seconds.
