Kate Merritt wins two races, finishes third in another at Trojans' first track meet

Coffee High senior Kate Merritt continued her front-of-the-pack performances at the Trojans’ first track meet of the season in Albany. She had a great day scoring two first place finishes and a third place finish. She ran a 5:23.31 1600 meter run and a 11:49.89 3200 meter run. She also placed third in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:28.14.
Junior Will Bagwell scored a third place finish in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:35.71. Will also mustered a fourth place finish in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:49.59.
Junior Ja’Maria Harvey finished fifth in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:01.56. She finished her day with an eighth place finish in the 200 meter dash compiling a time of 27.52 seconds.
Tyrese Woodgett finished seventh in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.38 seconds. He completed his day with an eighth place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.27 seconds.
The 4X800 meter relay team of Nora Lott, Josie Lott, Alison Rivas and Jade Hamilton placed seventh with a time of 12:12.50
The team will travel to Pierce County High School for a meet this afternoon.
