Herbert Shelton “Toby” Gale

Johnson Funeral & Cremation Services announces the funeral service for Herbert Shelton “Toby” Gale, who passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 in Nicholls, Georgia.

Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Friday, April 8, 2022 at Johnson Funeral & Cremation Services. Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 9, 2022 in the Lax Holiness Church.

Stanley Carver, Scott Smith & Floyd Musgrove will officiate. Burial will be in the Lax Holiness Church Cemetery.

Toby was born in Brunswick, Ga. in 1949.  His parents were Oliver & Geraldine Gale of Brunswick, Ga and was preceded in death by a sister: Barbara Woods. He served in the Marines in Vietnam.  He was a welder by trade.  In life he became a Pastor of the Faith Baptist Church in Douglas, Ga.  He also had several businesses in life.  Toby played several instruments and loved music & hunting.  But his love of the Lord was his heart.

Survivors include: Wife: Annie Boykin Gale; Children: Nichole Brown of Columbus, Duane & Jenny Boykin of Virginia, Mark & Sharon Boykin of Virginia, Shawn & Amy Boykin of Georgia; Grandchildren: Christopher & Meghan Boykin, Cullen & Kristen Boykin, Cayla & Blayne Jarman, Elijah & Tori Boykin, Rachel Boykin, Ben Boykin, Savannah Boykin and Emily Boykin, Ashlie, Harley, Brook, Courtney McDaniel; Sisters: Janice Tyler of Brunswick, Debi Garner (Steve) of Douglas, Carol Smith of Douglas; 2 nieces &  3 nephews also survive.
