Wayne Dees Presley went into eternal rest on January 11, 2021 at the age of 95 in Savannah, Georgia.

Born in Garland, Alabama on July 13, 1925, Wayne was the son of Essie Lee and Norvin Benson Presley and brother to Agatha, Jennette, Eugene, Charles, Robert "Bubba" Quinton, and Albert Presley. At the outset of World War II, Wayne enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a PBY Catalina radio operator/tail gunner stationed in the Aleutian Islands. After returning from the Pacific, Wayne met the love of his life, Gladys, and they married in 1952 before settling down in Garden City, Georgia. He worked as a paint salesman for PP&G Industries for thirty-eight years, choosing to retire more than once because of his love of the work and travel. He and Gladys would raise two ever-faithful children, their daughter Barbara Lynn Presley, and son, David Wayne Presley, both of whom would take care of him in his later years. A devout Christian, Wayne loved attending church services, gardening, taking his dogs on walks, and watching sports especially his Alabama Crimson Tide. He was known for his infectious smile and he never met a stranger.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Gladys Gamble Presley, and is survived by his brother Charles, his children, Barbara and David, and his grandchildren, Alan and Brett (Ashley) Spearman.

A graveside service for Mr. Presley will be held Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 4:00pm the Pridgen Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Steven Hart officiating.
