One killed, one injured in double shooting at Amberwood Apartments

Jabyo Lamar Bell, 30, of Waycross, died Sunday afternoon as a result of a shooting that took place at Amberwood Apartments in Douglas. Onterio Laroy Wilson, 27, of Douglas, was also shot during the incident. He is recovering at Coffee Regional Medical Center.
According to a press release posted on the Douglas Police Department’s Facebook page, police believe that both Bell and Wilson were involved in the shooting.
The press release states that on the afternoon of December 15, 2019, the Douglas Police Department was called in reference to shots being fired at a local apartment complex on East Baker Highway. Upon officers’ arrival one subject, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was located behind an apartment near East Baker Highway. That subject, Bell, succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced deceased at Coffee Regional Medical Center.
While on scene, officers were also advised that a second subject, Wilson, had been dropped off at Coffee Regional Medical Center and he too was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
City of Douglas Police Department investigators are currently following up on leads and actively investigating the case.
