The Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit recently made the following arrests:
Sept. 24 – Around 4:30 p.m., Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit detectives conducted an investigation at the Fountain Inn and Suites in Douglas in reference to tips and complaints about an employee selling drugs from within the office.
During the investigation, agents identified and subsequently arrested Tracy Rebecca Williams Deshazor as the employee distributing drugs from the motel. A search of her personal items in the office was conducted and methamphetamine was discovered. A search of a room associated with this investigation was also conducted and Myron Dramael McTear was found inside the room with quantities of methamphetamine. During the search, McTear attempted to destroy evidence.
McTear was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and tampering with evidence, along with an outstanding parole warrant. Deshazor was charged with possession of methamphetamine, along with an outstanding warrant through Alma police.
Sept. 25 - At approximately 1:50 p.m., the Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit conducted a search at a residence in the Bethel Community in Douglas. During the search, quantities of methamphetamine were discovered.
Joshua Cary Harden was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, Natalie Danielle Murray was charged with possession of methamphetamine, and Aaron Micheal Tarlton was arrested for an outstanding bench warrant through the City of Nicholls.
Sept. 25 – Around 3 p.m., the Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit conducted another search of a residence on East Ward Street in Douglas. During the search, quantities of methamphetamine, marijuana, and illicit prescription medications were discovered.
Kyvolski Martin Simpson was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance (Diazepam) and possession of Scheduled IV controlled substance (Carisoprodol). Amanda Nicole Bailey was also charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule IV controlled substance (Diazepam,) and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance (Carisoprodol). Mary Judith Curry was arrested on an outstanding drug court warrant.
Sept. 27 - At approximately 9:30 p.m., Coffee County K-9 deputies conducted a traffic stop on Pinecrest Street and Hollywood Drive for a traffic violation. The driver, identified as John Edward Batten III, gave officers consent to search the vehicle. During the search, a quantity of marijuana was discovered, along with a quantity of powder cocaine.
Batten was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, and was cited for failure to use turn signal.
