Sunday, June 10, the Alma Police Department arrested Bree’unka Vaughn, 20 of Alma, for misdemeanor possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on E. 16th St.

Tuesday, June 12, APD arrested Pedro Canela, 63 of Alma, for public intoxication following a call in the 200 block of W. 10th St. to a person falling in the roadway.

Thursday, June 14, APD’s Crime Suppression Unit along with the Georgia Department of Community Supervision executed a search of a residence in the 900 block of S. Church St. after a brief investigation conducted by APD. Kimberly Shelton, 38 of Alma, was arrested for possession of a schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute (2 counts), possession of a schedule II controlled substance (2 counts), possession of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Shelton is currently on parole for an unrelated offense.

-----Friday, June 15 Arrests-----

APD arrested Kim Batson, 47 of Alma, for disorderly conduct, maintaining a disorderly house, and obstruction of law enforcement officers following a call in the 800 block of S. Church St.

APD arrested Elmira Maria Gaskins, 36 of Westgreen, for an outstanding probation warrant out of Coffee County following a call in the 800 block of W. 12th St.

APD arrested Brittany Nettles, 17 of Alma, and Leanna Lyshae Nettles, 19 of Alma, for affray following a fight call at MLK Park. APD has also secured arrest warrants for Natasha Pugh, 17 of Alma, and Brianna Perrish, 17 of Alma, for affray. APD discovered a video on social media of the fight involving these individuals.

Saturday morning, June 16, APD arrested Jakia Williams, 18 of Alma, for leaving the scene of an accident, driving while unlicensed, and failure to maintain lane. Williams’ arrest followed a vehicle crash on E. 5th St. which Williams fled. The incident was witnessed by a Bacon County Sheriff’s Office deputy sheriff.

Sunday morning, June 17, APD responded to a shooting in the 200 block of E. 10th St. A home had been hit twice with gunfire. Officers recovered seven bullet casings in the roadway in front of the home. No injuries were reported.
