Adams awarded GFB Scholarship for Agriculture
Dawson Adams of Douglas is one of 12 recipients of the 2019 Georgia Farm Bureau Scholarships for Agriculture for graduating high school seniors. Adams is one of five students to receive a $3,000 scholarship. The other seven students are receiving $1,500 scholarships.
The scholarships recognize and assist deserving and outstanding students pursuing college degrees in agriculture or an ag-related degree at a college in the University System of Georgia, Berry College or Emmanuel College.
Adams, the son of Ron and Sheila Adams, graduated from Coffee County High School (CCHS) and plans to attend Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in the fall to study agribusiness and agricultural communications. He has been an active FFA member for the past seven years and just completed a term as the 2018-2019 Georgia FFA South Region Vice President. He has served as president, treasurer and sentinel of the CCHS FFA chapter. He has served on the Coffee County Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Junior Board and as an ambassador for the Georgia National Fairgrounds.
