Dale W. Harrell, 80

Mr. Dale W. Harrell, age 80 of Axson, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas.

 

A native of Pearson, Mr. Harrell was born, June 7, 1940, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Quincy “J.Q” and Gladys Giddens Harrell.  After over twenty years of living in Brunswick, he moved back to Pearson in the mid-nineties where he went on to eventually retire after many years as supervisor with Georgia Pacific Company.  Mr. Harrell was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Pearson and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  He enjoyed fishing, raising livestock, especially goats and chickens, gardening and tinkering.  Mr. Harrell was preceded in death by his parents along with his brother, Jed Harrell.

 

Survivors include:

 

Wife:  Bobbie Harrell of Axson, Ga.

 

Sons:  Lewis Harrell and wife Debbie of Axson, Ga.

              John Harrell and Patrice Lands of Atkinson, Ga.

 

Daughter:  Deborah Royals and husband Andy of Axson, Ga.

 

Brother:  Bennie Harrell of Pearson, Ga.

 

Sister:  DeLane Dees and husband Peter of Mt. Vernon, Ga.

Six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

 

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Harrell were held on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Rev. Ed Gilliard officiating. Special musical selections included, “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace” rendered by cd.  The interment followed in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery where U.S. Air Force Military Honors were presented.

 

Relihan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
