Featured Coffee Regional restricts patient visitation

Like many hospitals, Coffee Regional Medical Center (CRMC) has had an increase in positive COVID-19 cases. Therefore, effective at 5 pm Tuesday, July 7, CRMC will once again restrict all patient visitation. This is for the safety of patients, visitors and caregivers. Visitors will be limited to:

  • spouse or significant other of new mothers
  • parent or caregiver of patients under the age of 18
  • court-appointed guardians of patients
  • caregiver of those patients needing special care

Patients over the age of 18 may not have visitors unless otherwise approved by clinical leadership.

We know just how important it is to have family close during times of illness and we ask for your understanding of the importance of this change. There will be circumstances when family members need to be together and we will compassionately address those circumstances.

If you have a scheduled procedure or diagnostic test, please come to the main entrance of Coffee Regional Medical Center, you will be directed from there by CRMC staff. If you arrive at CRMC prior to 7am, please use the Emergency Room entrance.

We encourage you to contact patients on their personal cellular devices or call their patient room directly. Our caregivers are happy to help those patients who need assistance with communication, especially those who do not have cell phones or tablets. We have procedures in place to ensure immediate family members are updated at key times throughout the day. The designated family member for patients who are critically ill will be updated more often and as necessary by the nursing staff.

Our caregivers will share the direct dial telephone numbers to patient rooms on admission. Our patients (or an immediate family member) will determine if the patient wishes to receive in room calls. Patients may opt out from receiving calls, for their privacy.

For those patients who wish to receive calls, we ask that calls be restricted to the hours listed below:

  • 10am-2pm Calls can be connected to patient rooms
  • 2pm-4pm Quiet Time - No Calls
  • 4pm-8pm Calls can be connected to patient rooms

We appreciate your support and understanding in helping us keep our patients and your wellbeing at the center of our care. Please stay well. Together, we will get through this.
