The Trashin' Fashion Show is designed to be a cross-curricular project-based learning activity that involves the whole community.
The project allows high school students to use what they have learned in Art, Math, Language Arts, and Environmental Science to create a wearable piece of art from discarded materials. By involving FBIT community partners and public entries, the project opens the discussion of the environmental impact of fashion and the role of all individuals in being more creative in the reuse of materials.
The Trashin' Fashion Show is an opportunity to showcase the finished products and build relationships among students and community members who share concerns for the environment, art, and local creative problem-solving. This is going to be such a fun time! You won't believe the designs CHS students, teachers, and community partners have created for Trashin' Fashion 2023!
The Runway Show will take place at the CHS Performing Arts Center on May 19 at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $15 and are available at Douglas National Bank, Eve, J&D, and the CHS FBIT office.
