In an effort to increase attendance, Coffee Middle School observed September as Attendance Awareness Month. Attendance matters and improves chances of students being successful in school. Research shows that students who miss 2-3 days of school each month are more likely to drop out of school.
Coffee Middle School has observed the month by providing incentives to encourage student attendance. Drawings were held for weekly attendance winners as well as monthly winners. We greatly appreciate Burger King, Zaxby’s, Ellianos, Hungry Howie’s, and Surcheros for providing the prizes. Pictured are the winners for each of the four weeks in September plus the month long winners.
Week 1: September 3-7 Reagan Robinson, Christopher McDuffie, Dashun Dunlap, Justin Hurst, Adam O’Steen, Isaac Starnes
Week 2: September 10-14 Tyrianna Woodgett, Emily Lucas Mendez, Colin Smith (not pictured), Isaiah Q. Daniels, Nytajha Bailey, Carmelo Caldwell
Week 3: September 17-21 Arterreus Davis, Christopher Vasquez-Domingo, Zykeria Dunnom, Kevin Simon-Gonzalez, Zyriah Hamilton, Ty Gilliard
Week 4: September 24-28 Saniyah Wilson, Alexander Lara, Sarah Ott, Brianna Williams, Samuel Farmer, Ariyah Scott
