Representatives with the Coffee County Child Advocacy Center/Sadie's House will be hosting a ribbon cutting and open house next Thursday, August 28, from 4-6 p.m. at the center, which is located at 617 E. Ward St. in Douglas.
The Child Advocacy Center provides various services to children, their families, and the community. Its primary mission is that every child who has alleged some type of abuse has services available to them by professionals who have specialized training and resources within the community to help them and their non-offending caregivers with the ability to cope and provide the support they need to rebuild their lives.
They provide victim’s representation, forensic interviewing, rape crisis intervention, and referral services to counseling agencies, as well as other resources that are available.
